Cancellation of Classes Due to Winter Weather ConditionsAs we enter snow season, we want to inform you about possible decisions to cancel classes due snow or related weather conditions. As a general practice, we cancel classes only under the most extreme circumstances. Therefore, please expect that classes will be held as scheduled and prepare accordingly, such as planning for additional travel time. On a rare occasion, classes may be canceled. You may learn if classes have been canceled due to weather on student email, the CLC web site, or via the media sources listed below. Students who have registered with Star Alert will receive weather announcement via text message and email. See the CLC home page (www.clcmn.edu) for instructions on how to register with Star Alert. Student Information lines Media Coverage Some classes meet in local school district buildings. If a school district cancels schools, CLC classes, both day and evening, located at this school will be canceled. Contact the local school district to determine if the district canceled classes. Students in ITV classes may receive special instructions. If day classes are canceled, the decision will be communicated no later than 6:00 a.m. Whenever possible, if evening classes are canceled, the decision will be communicated no later than 2:00 p.m. to prevent students from traveling in unsafe conditions during evening hours. If classes are not canceled when there is snow or difficult driving conditions, each student must decide whether to attend class, based on her/his personal situation. However, if classes are held and a student decides not to attend, absences will be handled according to the instructor's syllabus.
