How is the Foundation governed?

A volunteer Board of Directors governs the Foundation. In addition to accepting donations and managing funds, the board members serve as ambassadors of the college to the central Minnesota community.


CLC FOUNDATION ANNUAL BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 22, 2008

 

The Central Lakes College Foundation held their Annual Board meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Mike Sands of Kummet Larson Bluth & Co. performed and presented the Foundation's annual audit report. The election of officers took place. Dr. Jerry Poland, Crosby, MN , who held the office of Foundation President for the past two year term passed the gavel to Richard Nolan of Crosby, MN.

Rick NolanNolan accepted the position for two years and has experience in education, government and business. He is a graduate of Brainerd High School and the University of Minnesota. He was elected in 1968 as the state's youngest legislator, served two terms in the Minnesota House, two years on the staff of Senator Walter Mondale and three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is still active as vice-chair for the state DFL Party.
Curt Nielsen and Darrell Schneider retired from the board after serving 20 and 6 years respectively. Both were recognized during the meeting and presented with a plaque of appreciation.



AndersonBarbara Anderson will replace Curt Nielsen and was nominated and accepted a 3-year term. She has spent more than 30 years working in the health care field, first as a registered nurse and later as a college instructor. She has been employed by St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd since 1988. She currently served as the Chief Quality Office for Brainerd Lakes Health, which includes St. Joseph's and Brainerd Medical Centers. She is an alumnus of the College of St. Scholastica and the University of Minnesota's graduate program in Public Health.
Foundation officers include - Richard Nolan, President; Brian Kirkpatrick, Vice-President; Milo Johnson, Secretary; Randy Beinhorn, Treasurer/Finance Chair; Terry McCollough, Investment Chair and Diane Scearcy, Executive Director.
