Alumni enjoy games, free food
Hundreds of graduates and families and friends of CLC gathered Sept. 27 to enjoy festivities at Findorff Athletic Complex on the Brainerd campus. The baseball and softball teams held games pitting their squads against team made up of alumni. And the Alumni Association hosted a hot and chili feed before the football game vs. Rochester. Jean Beckmann, coordinator, said that she and her staffserved up a mere 550 hotdogs, 20 gallons of Wendy's chili, and 9 cases of bottled water.
The Raider softball team captured two wins over the alumni, first by a wide margin and then pressed into extra-innings for a 15-13 escape against some formidable graduates who were finally hitting their stride.
On the baseball side of things, Raider Coach Joel Lofstrom said this day was an opportunity for his players to get a feel for game conditions, including official umpires and game situations that can help hone the team when spring arrives and the official season is played.
CLC appreciates all who have graduated from the college and invites them to be in touch with the Alumni Association through Coordinator Jean Beckmann (218-855-8135) in the CLC Foundation office.
