Free

Cultural Thursdays at Central Lakes College will host a Staples-Motley HS and Bethel University graduate for an upcoming presentation on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 12 noon in the Chalberg Theater on the Brainerd campus. Abby Edin spent 5 months in 2016 experiencing community and culture
while teaching English with the Peace Corps in Colombia. She’ll share what she learned and how her time on the Caribbean coast of Colombia influenced her future travels and career plans.

Abby Edin graduated from Staples-Motley High School in 2010. She went on to study Spanish Education and Teaching English as a Second Language at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating with her B.A. in 2014, Abby taught English Language Learners (ELL) in Long Prairie, Minnesota. After her time with the Peace Corps, Abby taught English as a Second Language in the Little Falls School District for two years and is currently teaching Spanish Language and Culture(s).
