General
All Media equipment
should be requested fourty-eight hours in advance of the time it will be
scheduled for use. Emergency
Requests Situations arise which
require the use of media equipment in the classroom on short notice.
Usually, these requests can be processed promptly. However, requests that
are made during the evening hours or on weekends when the Audio Visual
Technician is not on duty can be difficult to fill. After Hours
Requests (Evenings) A student worker is
scheduled to staff the Help Desk in the Media Computer Center from 4:00 PM
until closing. The initial request should be made to this employee. If the
student worker is unable to promptly fill the request for any reason,
he/she should contact the Audio/Visual Technician at his home, by
telephone, for advice. If the Audio/Visual Techncian is unavailable, the
student worker should seek advice from the Library Technician who is on
duty at the Circulation Desk. After Hours
Requests (Weekends) Weekend requests, like
all others, should be made at least fourty-eight hours in advance of the
time of scheduled use. If unforeseen circumstances require additional
equipment, equipment repair, lamp replacement, etc., the Audio/Visual
Technician should be consulted by telephone. If the A/V Technician is
unavailable, the Information Media Specialist should be
contacted. If it is necessary for
the Audio/Visual Techncian to be called in to work to fill a request for
Media Equipment after hours, a request must be made through his
supervisor, Larry Kellerman, at 829-5915, in order to meet applicable terms of the
AFSCME contract. Unauthorized Removal
and Use of Media Equipment
Faculty and staff of
Central Lakes College, including employees of the Maintenance Department,
are not authorized to remove media equipment from the Equipment
Room (E418) or from other classrooms to satisfy last-minute requests by
persons conducting classes, workshops, etc. during evening or weekend
hours. All requests made to maintenance staff should be referred to the
Audio/Visual Technician.
