Media Computer Center Closing Policy

Policy Description:

This policy outlines the necessity for a scheduled

closing time and establishes procedures for closing

the center at those times.

 

 

It is necessary that The Media Computer Center closing hours be strictly observed in order to:

  • Maintain operating hours that will accommodate as many patrons as possible with the staffing resources available.
  • Responsibly manage financial aid funds used to pay student employees.
  • Provide a consistent work schedule for student employees assigned to the Help Desk.

 

The Media Computer Center must be closed with the lights off and patrons gone at the designated time each evening and Saturday afternoon. Neither full time staff nor student employees are authorized to work past the designated closing time. 

 

The procedure for closing The Media Computer Center will be as follows:

  • One half hour before closing time, the Help Desk employee will notify patrons that they have fifteen minutes left to work.
  • Fifteen minutes before closing time, the employee will inform patrons to stop working.
  • At closing time, the employee will turn off all lights. A security escort will be called to remove anyone who is unwilling to leave.
