Leane Flynn earned an M.A. in English from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and a B.A. in English with a minor in music from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Her professional interests include creative nonfiction, college writing, and mothering studies. In addition to teaching, Leane enjoys spending quality time with family, running 5K races, reading, writing, playing music, volunteering, biking on the Cuyuna Lakes Trail, and gardening.

Jensen’s work in design and photographic direction has won AdFed awards at the local, district, and national levels. These ADDY awards include work for clients such as Larson Boats, Bayliner Boats, LaMettry’s Collision and Creative Memories. Rick has a varied background working for agencies, printers, and companies – both large and small. A Minnesota native, he received a B.F.A. in Graphic Design at Indiana State University in 1993, where an elective course in graphic design and metals set him down his career path. Later in 2013, he received a B.S. in Education – Art, K-12 from St. Cloud State University. He’s currently working for the Minneapolis based, Soulo Communications as their Creative Director. “I’ve always liked creating things,” he says. “Whether it’s landscaping or construction or art, I just really like making something. As it turned out, graphic design was a way to make a living doing something I love”

Leon Dahlvang graduated from Staples Technical College and became a teaching assistant in the Computer Graphics department from 1985-89. He then worked at Connecting Point Computer Center/EdTech as a telephone support specialist for the graphics industry. He assisted in designs of brochures other promotional pieces for retail and education clients. In 1992, Leon was hired as a design/support person for the graphic design department at the Print House in Willmar, MN. Leon returned to teaching at Central Lakes College in 1996 and has enjoyed teaching students using technology for the creative marketplace.

Dr. Thaddeus McCamant has worked with commercial fruit and vegetable growers for twenty five years. He has a doctorate from Washington State University and has been working with fruit growers in Minnesota since the summer of 2000. Previously, he worked with fruit growers in Oregon, Washington and Montana. During the winter, he is regularly invited to speak at conferences in Minnesota and surrounding states. In order to increase our knowledge of growing fruits in northern Minnesota, he has started several research plots at the Ag and Energy Center in Staples looking at apple rootstocks and blueberry varieties.

Ronn Redemske obtained his Machine Tool Technology Degree at Staples Technical College in 1986. He spent the next nine years gaining industry experience building molds for high precision plastic injection, die cast molds, rubber molds and metal stamping dies. He returned to Central Lakes College and has spent the last eighteen years sharing his knowledge and experience to prepare his students to be successful in today’s machine trades industry. He continually adapts and updates the program to meet the needs of industry employers.

After 25 years in private sector executive management, Anne Radspinner completed her B.A. and M.A. in Literature and Writing at California State University San Marcos where her research on women and religion in 18th century literature established a foundation for her subsequent work in women’s studies. In the summer of 2014, Ms. Radspinner will receive the graduate certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies from Western Kentucky University. She plans to teach online for the university in the fall of 2014. Radspinner received her Associate of Art degree from Brainerd Community College in 1988 and has been an instructor at CLC since 2010. Teaching has been a life-long dream and women’s studies her passion.

Art Instructor

Primarily working in ceramic sculpture, Casey Hochhalter investigates the interaction of nature’s systems and the immensity of imagination. He is a Studio Art Instructor with experience in two and three dimensional design, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting, digital photography, airbrush painting, and art appreciation. Casey received a Masters of Fine Arts from Illinois State University, Normal, focusing his studies on balancing content and form with the traditions and current critical thought of ceramic art. He earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Minnesota State University, Mankato, majoring in ceramics and minoring in art history. Casey’s success as an artist and writer has earned him grant support for experimental research projects. His work has been presented in a number of highly regarded national and international exhibitions and publications.
